Our management team is highly involved in the day-to-day care of our residents. The open door policy they maintain has created an invaluable line of dialogue between them and the residents. Through this ongoing conversation, residents have provided vital input on how to refine the patient experience while under our care. Thusly, patient satisfaction has risen which has led to Avamere Rehabilitation of Coos Bay receiving the Bronze Quality Award from the American Health Care Association, which you can read more about by clicking here.

Amenities

We work closely with hospice programs to provide comprehensive and caring end of life care to residents when needed.

Short-term respite care is available for families and full-time caregivers that need a few days of personal rest and relief.

iStock_000009848408 (Small)IV therapies, such as antibiotics and fluids, and feeding tube services are available to our residents. Our skilled nursing staff is trained in managing these therapies as needed during your stay.

We provide daily wound care services when ordered by your physician for minor and complex wounds. We contract with a nationally recognized wound specialist that oversees our wound management program offering consultations and specialized nursing staff training when needed.

Our nursing staff has also received specialized training in the care and management of complex wound healing equipment and devices including Wound V.A.C.s.

We offer bariatric care services providing specialized beds, wheelchairs, lifts, and other necessary care equipment for those in our community that may need these services.

Our facility does provide limited services for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s. However, we are not a secured facility so we cannot assist with all dementia levels and may have to refer community members needing certain levels of care to one of our community care partners.

We have a beauty shop located in our facility with a licensed beautician that comes once a week to provide a wide-range of services at very reasonable prices.

Activities for Seniors in Coos Bay

The Activities Director at Avamere Rehabilitation of Coos Bay has planned a monthly calendar of day-to-day activities to meet the mental, physical, and spiritual needs of our residents. Being able to interact with peers over fun and invigorating activities is an important part of the rehabilitation process. Lanphier Associates job 984, AVA003 at the Pearl, Lake Oswego OrThese activities are so much more than playing Bingo or completing a group crossword puzzle – it is a time to socialize with others who are in a similar situation. As we age, the bonds we have with each other only grow stronger and the stories and experiences we share are all the more impactful. And no matter what the activity is – whether it is a competitive game of Wii Bowling or a stimulating arts and crafts project – research continues to show that interacting with our peers keeps our mental acuity sharp into our golden years.

The activity area is a spacious room with a large table for residents to gather around. The space also includes a sitting area with a comfortable couch and chairs to watch a DVD from our video library on a large flat screen TV. There is also a nice selection of books and magazines for your enjoyment.
